Why Impact Thrift exists
For me, this mission is personal. I grew up watching my mother escape domestic violence and raise three boys with almost no resources. We didn’t have much, but we had resilience — and that resilience became the foundation of Impact Thrift.
This store is built from lived experience and a commitment to helping families who are walking the same difficult path my mother once walked. Impact Thrift isn’t just a business — it’s a promise to uplift survivors, spread awareness, and support those rebuilding their lives.
We believe everyone deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to start again.
We are a locally owned, for-profit thrift store in Citrus Heights. We make secondhand goods accessible while building a sustainable business that can support meaningful community causes.
A clear commitment to Women’s Empowerment
10% of our online sales goes to Women’s Empowerment, an organization helping women experiencing homelessness move toward employment, stability, and independence.
We also donate clothing to Maryhouse, a Loaves & Fishes program serving women and families experiencing homelessness, and have supported Francis House Center, a resource center helping unhoused individuals and families access basic necessities and services. As we grow, our reach will grow. We are always looking for new organizations to partner with and new ways to serve our community.
Domestic violence affects everyone
Abuse may be physical, emotional, sexual, psychological, or financial. It affects women, men, and children, and can include coercion, intimidation, isolation, and controlling behavior.
Our role is to raise awareness and help people find credible resources, not to act as an emergency or crisis-response provider.
