Our Mission
Empowering Women
Supporting Survivors. Raising Awareness. Helping Families Rebuild.
Domestic violence affects families everywhere — women, men, and children of all ages and backgrounds. In the United States:
1 in 4 women experience severe intimate partner violence
1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner violence
Many more suffer emotional, financial, sexual, or psychological abuse that leaves no visible marks but causes deep, lasting harm
Domestic violence isn’t always physical. Abuse can include:
emotional manipulation
intimidation or verbal aggression
slamming doors or throwing objects
controlling finances or restricting access to resources
sexual coercion
abandoning the home and leaving a partner or children without support or stability
These forms of abuse often go unseen, but their impact is life-changing.
Why Impact Thrift Exists
For me, this mission is personal.
I grew up watching my mother escape domestic violence and raise three boys with almost no resources. We didn’t have much, but we had resilience — and that resilience became the foundation of Impact Thrift.
This store is built from lived experience and a commitment to helping families who are walking the same difficult path my mother once walked.
Impact Thrift isn’t just a business — it’s a promise to uplift survivors, spread awareness, and support those rebuilding their lives.
How We Support Survivors
• 10% of All Online Sales
Donated to Women’s Empowerment, helping survivors — primarily women overcoming homelessness, abuse, and trauma — gain stability, job readiness, and long-term support.
• In-Store Sales Support Local Families
Revenue from our shop allows us to assist programs like Maryhouse and Francis House, which provide emergency help, food, clothing, and essential care for families in crisis.
• Community Redistribution
Donated clothing and goods go directly back into Sacramento, ensuring individuals and families in need have access to essentials.
• Awareness & Education
We use our platform to highlight ALL forms of domestic violence — emotional, physical, sexual, financial, and psychological — and promote the resources that can help survivors.
A Mission to Grow
As Impact Thrift grows, so will our ability to:
fund more DV support programs
expand community outreach
assist more survivors and families
increase donations to essential organizations
raise awareness about ALL types of abuse
create deeper community partnerships
Our mission is grounded in empathy, lived experience, and the belief that every survivor deserves a chance to rebuild.
A Community That Cares
Every donation, every purchase, every act of support fuels healing.
When you shop with us, you’re doing more than finding something unique —
